We Are...

Another highlight of the trip came the day after Lindsey's birthday. My brother, Matt, wrestles for Penn State and they made a trip to Utah to wrestle! The morning before the meet, my dad and I drove down and got to go to the temple with Matt. Not only was it great to go to the temple, but it was so much fun to spend extra time with Matt. Here we are after the temple:

The trip took Matt down memory lane to when he was in the MTC and got to go to this temple once a week.

That evening we headed down to the meet. It was so awesome to see all these guys that I've been following the entire season. It was so impressive to see them in action.
This was the first time I've seen Matt wrestle in person since he was in high school! I hope to be able to watch him more in the upcoming years.
You can see Matt wrestling but I also got to see our favorite PSU twitter wrestling informant in action @pennstatepat:

It was so great to have so much of the family in one place again and it was so great to see Matt do so well.
LET'S GO STATE!!!

Baby Girl Birthday

Well, sorry for the hiatus. We were in Utah for the past 2 weeks. It was a wonderful visit and I spent most of my time with family and I loved every second of it. While we were there, Lindsey turned one. I was sad that Ty wasn't able to be there and celebrate with us, but it was a nice little get together with my family and lots of fun to celebrate in her special day. Here is the celebration via pictures:

She was SO excited when she woke up and saw her decorations up. She was just in awe.

Mommy and the birthday girl:

We had yummy pizza:

Even though we couldn't have them here physically, we were still happy to have Daddy and Aunt Wendy and Kate join in on the fun through skype. You can see that Wendy even put up decorations of her own, and Kate even made cupcakes to celebrate!
She loved opening all her new toys, books, and clothes:Here she is waiting in anticipation for her cake. Notice she already has icing on her face and hands. I tried to take a picture of her with her birthday cake before bringing out her individual cake and she immediately grabbed the cake!
Finally she got her own cake and went to town:

We let the cousins join in a bit:

After she was bathed and in her comfy pjs the party could continue:
Pap Pap dancing with the birthday girl:
The decorations are even more fun when they are down!
It was such a fun day. I enjoy so much about this sweet little girl. I'm so glad she is a part of our lives and how much she has changed the dynamics of our little family!

Don't Blink

Today we were playing in the rain and I noticed on the sidewalk were little footprints. It was so cute, I had to take a picture. Well, a few minutes later I looked back and they were gone. How similar is that to life? One minute we are enjoying something wonderful but we get sidetracked and then we notice it's gone. As I approach Lindsey's first birthday I feel so differently than with Whitney's first birthday. When Whitney was a baby I was constantly...
And that's as far as I got.
Ty returned home shortly after I started blogging so I took a break. He went and put in a load of laundry while I was finishing packing. I was trying to stuff our winter coats into the luggage and I needed to sit/lay on the bag in order for Ty to be able to zip it up. We turned around and saw our lovely angel had poured out almost 3/4 of a Costco size liquid tide. I guess I should count our blessings and that most of it was on the kitchen floor. Here was our attempt at saving as much as we could:
It's the sweet ones who are trouble! Another life lesson...don't trust anyone! haha
Luckily, we got most of it back into the container and our house smells very fresh when you walk in the door!
And while we were cleaning, our almost 3-year-old decided to sneak into our bedroom and draw all over herself.

Oh what a night! I am grateful for little precious moments. My kids are awesome, even if sometimes they test me. :-)
